KIM IS DEEPLY COMMITTED TO THREE KEY AREAS OF COMMUNITY:
HEALTH AND PUBLIC SAFETY

This is front and center for the citizens of Pflugerville and its
PFuture. My top priority for public safety is a police force that is positively engaged in the
community. Equally, important is ensuring that those who serve and protect will receive full
budgetary, salary and quality of life support for police and EMS. Public safety is the health of
our citizens, including mental health. It is crucial that we provide community resources,
especially in the middle of a pandemic.

Our expanding and diverse population requires
culturally competent leaders who embrace this change and mindfully create an inclusive and
equitable community where all can thrive. Every citizen and every PFamily in Pflugerville can
experience a favorable quality of life. One of the worst outcomes from this pandemic is seeing
people lose their homes. With incomes affected and property values rising, tax burden on
homeowners has increased. Once on council, I will evaluate raising homestead exemptions. This
was recently accomplished in Austin. This will provide much needed tax relief, especially to our
most vulnerable citizens. Sustainable growth requires intentional stewardship of resources to
include both financial and human capital.

HISTORY AND CITY IDENTITY

With growth many cities lose their identity. We must ensure
Pflugerville keeps its rich history and identity as we experience rapid growth. Citizens have
expressed the importance of maintaining a “hometown feel” here in Pflugerville. Facilitating
more community centered events will help enhance that “hometown feel”. One slice of our
history that continues to come to the forefront is the upkeep of the historic Colored Addition
Cemetery. I give gratitude to those who volunteered to maintain the cemetery. Thank you
American Legion, Rotary Club, Black Pflugerville and others. My call to action is to find a
permanent resolution for the Colored Addition Cemetery to preserve this rich piece of
Pflugerville’s cultural history.
